FLOW – Family Learning Open Weekend
FLOW is a special Family Learning Open Weekend event hosted by IRIE! dance theatre that is now in its fourth year. The event generally takes place the last weekend in March and this year will take place on 24 Saturday March 2012. (Yes, sadly FLOW will just be a one-day event this year but we are hoping to return to the 2-day format next year.)
It’s literally an event that the whole family can enjoy and many of the activities are designed so that family member can participate in together, for instance the African Dance classes, the Caribbean Dance classes and the Drumming classes and Storytelling. We also have face painting and mask-making for the younger children.
Plus, this year we have several performances lined up for you. There will be performances by:
- The children from IRIE!’s After School Club,
- The Dance Foundation Degree Students,
- connectingvibes* who launched their new season of dance “When In Doubt…” on 24 February 2012; and
- JAMMDRUMM – IRIE! dance theatre’s drumming ensemble who gave their debut performance at IRIE!’s AGM last December.
So here’s the program of scheduled events for FLOW 2012.
