Dance & Diversity: Taking Stock & Making it Happen – A research report looking into cultural diversity in dance training with particular focus on African Peoples Dance.

Dance and Diversity is an Action Research Project funded by NESTA and conducted by IRIE! dance theatre that looks at the place of cultural diversity in dance training, particularly focusing on the awareness and provision of African and Caribbean styles. The project Directors are Beverley Glean the Artistic Director of IRIE! dance theatre, and Rosie Lehan, Dance Lecturer at City & Islington College.

This report summarises the findings of the first year of a 3-year developmental plan to raise the profile of African and Caribbean dance, addressing issues of inequality within dance education and practice.
