connectingvibes* 2012 Season of DanceThe dance company “connectingvibes*” was created during the millennium year following an invitation to perform for the National Dance Festival of Grenada. Since that time the company has completed 9 national tours presenting a fusion of African, Caribbean and Contemporary dance.

Now, connectingvibes* is poised to launch its 10th season of dance theatre called “When in Doubt…” on Thursday 23 February.

When in Doubt…” consists of four (4) pieces:

No Lasagne

The piece takes a humorous look at our everyday and potentially life changing choices and asks you to consider the question:

“How much would you sacrifice to reach your goal?”

It will also feature the work of independent filmmaker Solveiga Serova who is making her debut with connectingvibes*.

By All Means Necessary

This returning piece is a favourite by Sheika Edwards, a graduate from the Dance Foundation Degree run in partnership with IRIE! dance theatre, City and Islington College and London Metropolitan University. It looks at whether or not you have ruthlessness and bravery to identify and eliminate the things that no longer have a place in your life.

Waiting For…

some people wait forever for the ‘Big Moment’, the ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’, while others refuse to wait preferring to take destiny in their own hands.

Breeze Easy

This piece was originally created for “Connecting Vibes USA” – a company that was founded in 2011 and which heralds the start of an exciting transatlantic relationship. The piece was restaged for ADAD’s Bloom festival at the Southbank Centre in September 2011.

The work represents a fusion of contemporary and traditional movement demonstrating the flow, versatility and grounding inherent in the movement language of Caribbean dance.

We do hope you can make one of these performances. Simply call the Box Office to book your tickets and, if you’re interested in having the company present a dance workshop for your school, college or other organization you can also call the box office or complete our Contact Form to send us an email.
