Moonshot Centre to be Redecorated Thanks to Local Donations
Moonshot Centre will soon receive a welcome facelift thanks to local company, P J Harte (Decorating Contractors) Ltd, and Community Payback.
P J Harte (Decorating Contractors) Ltd, established in 1974, “was built on a philosophy of providing quality without compromise”. Decorating remains at the core of its services but, naturally, over the years, the range of services that the company delivers has expanded.
The company’s redecoration and refurbishment projects include Leadenhall market, Dulwich Picture Gallery and Tower Bridge, as well as various properties in Eaton Square, Onslow Square and Kensington Palace Gardens. However, for this special project they will not be carrying out the work themselves. P.J. Harte has generously agreed to donate the paint for this project. The painting and decorating of Monnshot Centre’s teaching rooms, studios, hallways and toilets will be carried out by Community Payback.
Community Payback is an organisation that works with ex-offenders who are learning new skills and paying back for crimes they’ve committed such as (burglary, robberies and other crimes) in the community. The ex-offenders will do all the painting and decorating for free.
Community Engagement Officer Surjit Power said
“We’re very appreciative of the support of P J Harte and Community PayBack in helping IRIE! to make Moonshot Centre a more inviting space for local people.”
Beverley Glean, IRIE!’s Artistic Director added,
“Moonshot Centre has been in need of redecorating for quite some time now. This will definitely give the building a new lease of life.”
The painting and decorating will take place over the next few weeks.
