Re:Generations International Dance Conference
Re:Generations – International Perspectives on Dance of the African Diaspora is a special dance conference scheduled for 5-6 November at London Metropolitan University that is being organised by ADAD in association with IRIE! dance theatre, State of Emergency and London Metropolitan University.
The aim of the conference is to bring together dance artists and academics to discuss and debate research and practice in the field of ‘dance of the African Diaspora’. A variety of workshops, performances and networking events will be integrated into the event.
Brenda Dixon-Gottschild, Professor Emeritus (Dance Studies), Temple University, Philadelphia will be giving the keynote address. Beverley Glean, IRIE! dance theatre’s Artistic Director, along with Rosie Lehan, an Independent Choreographer and Dance Lecturer at City & Islington College will also be making a special presentation.
In addition, as part of the Re:Generations program, on on Friday 5 November, State of Emergency Productions will be presenting a special performance at the Lilian Baylis Theatre which will feature Movement Angol, Pair Dance, ADiaspora Collective and Tavaziva Dance Company will be performing at the Lilian Baylis Theatre. While this special performance will be open to the general public for a fee, conference delegates will be able to attend for free.
