Luanda Pau (Havana, 1976) is a distinguished Afro-Cuban dancer, educator, and cultural ambassador whose artistry is deeply rooted in Cuba's esteemed dance heritage.
A graduate of the prestigious National School of Art, Luanda excelled as a captivating soloist with the renowned Conjunto Folklórico Nacional dance company. Her exceptional talent has since led her to become a highly sought-after instructor, captivating audiences and students across the globe.
Based in London, Luanda is the visionary founder of the Alafia Festival, a significant cultural highlight hosted at the Acosta Dance Centre in Woolwich. Prior to this, she spearheaded Havana's vibrant Afro-Cuban Dance Festival for 10 impactful years, demonstrating her enduring connection to her homeland's traditions.
Beyond performance and festivals, Luanda is passionately committed to nurturing young talent and enriching communities. She currently serves as the Education and Community Artistic Programmer Manager for the Acosta Dance Foundation, where she designs and implements engaging programs…
