IRIE! wants to say congratulation’s to Dr H Patten, who received an MBE in Her Majesty The Queen’s New Year’s Honours list for his services to African and Caribbean Dance. Dr H is the lead Caribbean dance Lecturer on IRIE!’s BA (Hons) Diverse Dance Styles.
Dr H is rebranding his MBE ‘Member of the Black Emancipators’. He says:“as that is our role no matter whether it be in small or large ways. We must always strive to use our individual advances to open doors for others to come through and thus help to uplift the rest of our community who are coming behind us!”
